From time to time, certain emails drop into your inbox that get you extra excited about what you do. When Derek from the Golden Lion Hotel in the North Norfolk coastal town of Hunstanton got in touch to say they were renovating and extending their bar and restaurant area and needed 6 panels of stained glass, this certainly piqued our interest. The brief was simple – create bespoke stained glass depicting iconic scenes of the area.During a meeting at the hotel, we presented a selection of local landmarks to Derek and his team. We then agreed to design and recreate in our stained glass overlay the Lighthouse, the Helter Skelter, the Hunstanton cliffs with the iconic red clay, the beach huts, the Pier and two fishing boats of brothers who were regular patrons of the hotel.Each landmark was sketched to approve the design and then we did the main drawings, before the lead and film application work was done.
