Acoustic Glass and Double Glazed

Acoustic Glass and Double Glazed

Acoustic laminated glass gives the highest noise insulation. Glass controls noise by:

  • Reflecting the noise back towards the source
  • Absorbing the noise energy within the glass
We can improve the sound insulation of glass in different ways - increasing the thickness of the pane, using laminated glass on its own or within an Insulating Glass Unit (the larger the gap between the panes, the better the insulation). However, the most effective way is through acoustic laminated glass.

Starting at 6.8mm allows for a 14.8mm slim DGU (6.8mm acoustic laminate /4mm cavity /4mm low-emissivity).
